Cash for Chunkers-Fitness Together Minneapolis St. Paul

Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn. (PRWEB) September 2, 2009 -- Fitness Together Minneapolis St. Paul today announced it's "Cash for Chunkers" program. Similar to the Federal Government's Cash for Clunkers program where unwanted, inefficient vehicles can be traded in for cash discounts on a new vehicle, the Cash for Chunkers program similarly provides discounts for people looking to trade in their overweight bodies for a new one.

The program, which is available immediately, allows for graduated discounts relative to an individual's current body fat. "We take the difference between an individual's current body fat measurement, the ideal body fat for the individual, and then offer a discount on the difference." stated Fitness Together Minneapolis St Paul Owner and Chief Fitness officer Randy Zarecki.

The AP reported last month that being obese can cost an individual as much as $1400 more per year more than a normal weight individual. "While it would be great for the Federal Government to spend some money on exercise instead of encouraging people to drive more, that hasn't happened, so we're providing our own stimulus package for overweight and obese people to get healthier and save up to $1400." Zarecki added.

"A woman currently measuring 35% body fat is 20% above the ideal female body fat percentage of 15%, so she would get a 20% discount on any of our programs ... up to $1400 off." Zarecki clarified.

The program is available to new FT MSP clients only through August 31st.
